Freedom Fest
The event starts at 2pm Monday, July 4th in the Historic River District in downtown Fort Myers. There will be live music starting at 6pm featuring Deb & The Dynamics, Strange Arrangement, High Tide, No Way Jose, Fakahatchee, Memphis 56, and more. Fireworks will begin at 9:30 p.m. A preferred viewing area will be set up in the Harborside parking lot to allow those who would like special seating for only $5.00 a chair, children 5 and under free.
Freedom Fest attendees will get special discounts at numerous downtown restaurants, bars and retail merchants with the purchase of a $10.00 wristband. Proceeds from the sale of the the wristbands will benefit American Legion Post 38 and the River District Alliance.

Charlotte Symphony Orchestra
July 4th is the annual Charlotte Symphony “Symphonic Fireworks” concert which begins at 6pm at the Charlotte Harbor Event and Conference Center. This will be the start of Maestro Wada’s third season as conductor of the orchestra and the featured soloist will be local favorite, and Lee County resident, Al Holland. The program will feature traditional Independence Day favorites as well as selections of Holland’s favorite Platters songs. Star-Spangled Bonita
This is the 51st annual parade in Bonita Springs which moves along Old 41 Road starting at 9 a.m. and ends at Riverside Park. The city throws its Party in the Park following the parade, with food vendors, live entertainment, a kids’ water slide, face-painting, relay races, a pie-baking contest and a hot dog-eating competition. Independence Day Celebration
This event will take place on Monday, July 4 2011 on Sanibel Island. The parade starts at 9:30am and begins at Tarpon Bay Road and Periwinkle (Bailey’s Center) ending at Periwinkle and Casa Ybel Road (Jerry’s Center).
